The snow was cold in your fingertips. The snow melting right on you very own hands. The white crystals disappearing at your very warmth.

It's upsetting that most of the snow is just disappearing now, you thought to yourself as you remove your sight from your hand to the surroundings around you.

You were standing up on a tall hill, a single tree on top. All the leaves had fallen, and snow had given it a coat to wear. Yet, the coat was thin. And the snow under you only gave a thin blanket to the earth. The moon was up high, a half moon. And many twinkling stars around it. It made your [h/c] hair shine brightly and beautifully in the moonlight. It made the snowflakes falling look like tiny diamonds. A smile spread across you face, only to be quickly wiped away with realization.

"I'm late!" You screamed out to no one in particular. You were indeed late. You were supposed to return before the moon came up.

Letting the snow from your hand fall back to the ground, you quickly ran off.

I am so going to get killed! This is like the eighth time this month! You thought. It was true. You have been coming home really late. You just seemed pretty spacey for the last month.

Entering the door, you were greeted by Latvia. He was trembling like usual.

"I am so sorry I'm late! I was-"

You were interrupted by Latvia. "Mr.Russia is furious! Do you know how late you are?"

Your [e/c] orbs widen. "I said I was sorry! I didn't know he was going to be this mad!" Without saying another word, you ran down the hallway, passing Estonia and Lithuania, who were trembling like Latvia.

Oh dear God, I am going to die! You thought to yourself, as you ran. Your [h/l] [h/c] hair bobbed behind you as you ran. I am dead! Hundred and twenty percent dead! You continued to think to yourself.

Not even running for about three minutes, you were stopped by a big guy. Nearly running into him, you skid to a stop, your face barely brushing his chest. He smelled of Vodka.

"Mr.Russia! I am so sorry! I didn't-"

The big Russian cut you off. "It's fine, [y/n]. Just don't do it again, da?" After saying that, he left you there, in confusion.

"Why didn't he yell at me like the last time?" You quietly thought to yourself. A puzzled look on your face, you turned on your heels, and walked to your bedroom.

Once you got to your bedroom, you laid down on your bed. The sheets were a light pink, with matching white pillows. You laid your head on one of them, to find it different than the night before. Different in a good way. Looking out your small bedroom window, you could see the moon still shining. It made the snow on the windowsill shimmer beautifully. It brought peace to your mind, and a smile on your face. You soon fell asleep, the question from earlier, still pondering on your mind.

~The Next Morning~
You were woken up by the sun shining in your face. You open your eyes, only to have your [e/c] orbs blinded by the light.Letting out a soft noise in frustration, you shield your eyes with your hands, and sit up.

"What time is it?" You ask aloud, mostly to yourself. Looking at the small wall clock above your dresser, you see that it read 8:30 am. Your eyes widen. "I slept in! How could I sleep in?! I had the alarm set!"

You quickly jumped out of bed, and got dressed in your normal clothes. Your favourite [f/c] t-shirt, and faded blue jeans. Struggling to put on your shoes, you ran out of your bedroom. The three Baltic States stopped you.

"W-why are y-you up, [y/n]?" Asked Lithuania.

"Yeah, Mr.Russia said you could sleep in today." Added Estonia.

"Sleep in? Mr.Russia never told me that." You let out a soft sigh of relief, knowing you didn't sleep in. "I thought I overslept."

"But now that you're awake, here," Latvia handed you a few gardening tools, and a few seeds. "Mr.Russia wanted you to plant those when you wake up." The three Baltic states then left.

Looking down at the seeds, you tilted your head slightly to the left.

"SUNFLOWER SEEDS?!" You exclaimed, quite loudly. "HOW IN THE WORLD AM I SUPPOSED TO PLANT SUNFLOWERS IN THIS KIND OF WEATHER!"

Mumbling to yourself, you head outside. You figured this was your punishment for coming home late the night before. When you reached the side of the house, you sat down, crossed legged.

"Might as well get this over with..." You continued to mumble to yourself. As you planted the sunflower seeds carefully, you removed a piece of [h/c] bangs out of your face. You questioned yourself. "Why wasn't Mr.Russia upset with me last night? And why did he let me sleep in today?" Slowly shaking your head you finished off planting the sunflower seeds.

You frowned slightly. "These are never going to grow. It's a shame to plant them. I hate to see them just perish."

"So do I. I still like hoping that maybe one day they will still grow. Hope is good, da?" A man with a heavy Russian accent spoke behind you.

You slowly turned your head, and your heart nearly jumped out of your chest, seeing Russia. How long as he been standing there? You thought curiously.

"Mr.Russia.. I didn't know you were there..." You nodded slightly. "And yes, hope is good. Hope is what keeps the world in check."

The big Russian smiled childishly. You could feel your heart skip a beat. It has always done that when he smiled. You never knew why, either.

"Mr.Russia-"

"Call me Russia."

"Okay.. Russia," It felt weird to you when you said that. "Why didn't you scream at me last night? And why did you let me sleep in today?" You didn't really mean to ask the questions. They just slipped out. You quickly covered your mouth with your dirt covered hands. "I'm sorry, Russia! You don't have to answer!"

Russia just chuckled. He pulled you up, and stared into your [e/c] eyes with his violet ones. "It's because I love my подсолнечник (sunflower). I would never yell at them. I have no reason, da?" He gently removed your hands away from your mouth. He kept them in his own. They seemed so small compared to the Russian's big hands.

You could feel your cheeks flare up. D-did he just call me his sunflower? And that he loved me? You thought to yourself. The thought brought a smile to your face.

"Russia.." You exhaled deeply. "D-did you just say you loved me."

"Da." A simple answered, following with one of his childish smiles.

"Я тоже тебя люблю (I love you too), Russia." When you spoke Russian, his smile grew.

You were speaking the pure truth. You did love this big man. You always had. When he took you in his home, when yours was on fire. When he made you better when you were sick. Fed you when you were hungry.

"[y/n], you were the only one that haven't left me. All my loved ones left me. You.. You're different, da?" He hugged you tightly, your face buried into his scarf.

You picked your head up, so your [e/c] orbs were meeting his purple ones. "Da. I am very different. I love you too much to leave you."

Here you were, confessing your feelings to the man you loved. You never thought this day would come. You always thought it would end horribly. Russia not loving you back. But he did!

Smiling, Russia bent down, and kissed you passionately. "Я люблю тебя, мой маленький подсолнечник (I love you my little sunflower)."

"I love you, too, Russia." Going on your tiptoes, you kissed him gently, closing your eyes.

Today was the best day of your life. The most perfect day you could ever have. Nothing could ever ruin this moment. Nothing.
This is my first xreader, so I hope you enjoy it ( .-.)
I chose Russia because.. well.. Everyone wants to become one with Russia, da? (^J^)

What's with Ivan (Russia) frequently using the pet name "sunflower"?

(No offense; it's a lovely pet name.)
